Magic of Meditation

Hello fellow Mystics today we are talking about one of the ancient practices that has hands down transformed my life personally, meditation!
I resonated deeply with something my mindfulness teacher, Greg Burdulis said during my training at The Aura Institute
Meditation is a conversation with life force.

The more intimate I get with meditation the more this statement rings true for me. The conversation gets more insightful, passionate and humbling. As I deepen into my practices the beauty of life whether in moments of joy or in tragedy expands. Due to the profound effects that meditation has I am able to stay grounded as the waves of life force keep rolling in. I hold gratitude beyond measure for this practice and how versatile and life changing it truly is.
So what exactly is meditation anyway?
Meditation is a practice that has been used for thousands of years. Originally meditation was used to connect spiritually and to obtain higher states of consciousness. Today it is more commonly known and researched for its benefits in stress reduction and relaxation. It enhances awareness and well being often using techniques such as mindfulness or single pointed focus. Typically you are trying to focus the mind on a particular object, thought or activity. It is very common to use the breath with mediation or a mantra or affirmation connected to a desired state. Such as I am love or So hum ( Sanskrit for I am).
One of the life altering outcomes of meditation is that it allows a relaxed state and an attentive state to co-exist within you! To put this into perspective think about how shaken you can feel when you are in a disagreement with a beloved. Uncomfortable, I know! However, if you have a strong meditation practice you can simultaneously feel both the upset and a centered, grounded energy within you as you find your way to the solution that is available to your conflict.
